Support & Involvement Stronger Than Ever
|
| Tapping
the best of the public and private sectors: Vince Burgess
(Virginia DMV), left, and Robert Marshall (American Express),
join forces with Virginia Lt. Governor John Hager's wife,
Maggie, in a state-wide teen traffic safety campaign spearheaded
by WRAP. |
WRAP’s
government partners provide important technical support and
on-going funding, which secures an important foundation for
its efforts. These agencies continue their support and active
involvement because WRAP's programs keep the community safer
for everyone.
"The
approach of using the community to expand skills and to educate
is what is needed to combat underage drinking. WRAP’s ability
to implement educational campaigns has been critical to reducing
the severity of crashes in the region." said Carol Lewis, DC
Department of Public Works.
Though WRAP competed against many other worthy organizations
for these dollars, it received more public support this year
than ever before. The reason? WRAP’s board and staff work tirelessly
year after year to make the most of each dollar it receives
while delivering more than expected. Enlisting the assistance
of high school and college interns, as well as DWI offenders
and other volunteers, WRAP is able to accomplish a great deal
behind the scenes with a very streamlined staff.
"We,
in the Washington Metropolitan area, have all benefitted from
your solid contributions to alcohol-impaired driving prevention
programs and your wonderful ability to get things done! The
dedicated staff and membership of WRAP creatively promote and
implement effective programs and initiatives, and the Maryland
Highway Safety Office looks forward to an expanding partnership
during this next year." said Kathy Lusby-Treber, Maryland Highway
Safety Office.
WRAP continues to be a model program for uniting the best of
the public and private sectors and offers guidance to other
traffic safety and non-profit organizations. This allows the
states' investment in WRAP to touch many lives in many ways.
WRAP thanks its government investors for their continued support.
